Front Differential
A Polaris General front differential is one of those little things that makes your UTV driveable. Though it is a tiny component, you will surely feel its absence when your Polaris General front differential fails. Driving without a Polaris General front differentials is not safe either.

So, you can’t drive your UTV without a Polaris General front differential. But what does the Polaris General front differential do that is so important to keep your Polaris General running? The Polaris General front differential splits the torque produced by the engine between the two wheels. When taking turns, the inside tire needs to travel considerably less distance compared to the outer tire. This means the number of revolutions between the tires won’t be the same. Thus the Polaris General front differential splits the torque as needed for the inner and outer tires. So when you lose your Polaris General front differential, you’ll feel it most when taking turns.
The main reason why your Polaris General front differential fails is because of modifications. Almost every General owner puts in a few modifications in their rig. If you’ve done any performance upgrades, if your Polaris General engine now produces more torque than it used to, you could end up with a damaged Polaris General front differential. Your stock Polaris General front differential is built to withstand the stock engine's torque. So, it can’t handle any upgrades you make to your engine.
This doesn’t mean you can’t do any performance upgrades to your rig. If you are going for a major performance upgrade, make sure to get your Polaris General front differential upgraded as well.
