We’ve been hooked on the Polaris General since it was first introduced and released back in 2015 / 2016. As lifelong off-road fanatics, we have come to truly appreciate this beast of a crossover machine – because like most people, you can’t pigeonhole us into a particular class, category, or group. Sometimes we use our machines for work, and sometimes we use them for play. We might head to the pond in our side-by-side for a bit of fishing on a Tuesday after work, then load up the family on the weekend for a fun-packed day of backwoods exploration! Although the Polaris General ethos is consistent for the most part among most owners, the particular needs of any given rider will vary greatly from one person to the next. And that’s why we’re here!

In 2022 we got the Trailhead Edition, and in 2023, Polaris expanded its lineup to include the 2023 Polaris General XP 1000 Sport. This model is cheaper than the Premium and Ultimate trim packages, yet still comes decked out with factory accessories like half doors, a low-profile bumper, and a 4,500 Lb winch. Plus, with 30” tires, 14 inches of travel, a 600 Lb dump bed, and on-demand AWD with Versatrac Turf Mode, this vehicle is equipped to handle anything you might encounter on the trail. And because it’s an entry-level machine that’s reasonably priced, the 2023 Polaris General 1000 Sport is sure to bring first-time riders into the fold!
In 2022, Polaris offered an extensive lineup of General UTVs, ranging from the more basic 2022 Polaris General 1000 to the wider and more capable 2022 Polaris General XP. A big highlight of Polaris’ 2022 vehicle release was the introduction of the 2022 Polaris General XP 1000 Trailhead Edition. This trim package is basically a General XP Deluxe Ride Command Edition with a second level rear cargo rack, a front bumper-mounted light bar, and limited edition paint / graphics targeted at riders who like to go on longer, more remote adventures. TheTrailhead Edition of the 2022 Polaris General is purpose-built for trail riding, overlanding, camping and long-haul trips. It comes in both a 2-seat and 4-seat version, and includes a poly sport roof as well as a winch with an auto-stop magnetic fairlead. Plus, thanks to the Walker Evans Velocity shocks that come stock on the machine, riders get a highly-customizable suspension system that is both comfortable and capable!
